The country of Montenegro and its citizens must be proud of its diaspora, which has shown selfless solidarity even in these most difficult moments, in order to help our country in the fight against the coronavirus, said Adel Omeragić, the spokesperson of the Bosniak Party.
He points out that all the financial and medical aid received in the previous period, sent by our emigrants, shows that the bond with the mother is unbreakable.
Omeragić reminds that help from the diaspora arrives continuously.
"We have witnessed that since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the diaspora immediately started collecting aid for our country. Significant donations, funds, medical equipment were sent. Numerous donations have arrived from America, Germany, Luxembourg, Sweden, the Netherlands and other countries," says Omeragić.
He points out that our people in the diaspora are the best ambassadors of Montenegro, who, in addition to their humanity, are also known as successful and hardworking people in the countries where they now live and create.
"Although the coronavirus has affected the whole world, where a large number of people from our areas in New York, Chicago, Munich and numerous other cities have lost their jobs, they still showed that they do not forget their homeland, Montenegro," Omeragić points out.
He reminds that the solidarity of the diaspora continues even these days.
"We are witnessing numerous aid actions on the occasion of the month of Ramadan. Funds are donated, we have an example of togetherness and humanity in Gusinje, where thanks to the diaspora, since the beginning of Ramadan, bread and flatbreads have been distributed free of charge to all citizens of this municipality. This is just one of the confirmations that, even though they are miles away, the diaspora is always with their people and their country in their hearts," says the BS spokesman.
He said that he was pleased by the fact that Montenegro and its institutions improve their relationship with the diaspora every year.
"The diaspora's love for their homeland not only binds the state, but also teaches us how to love and protect our homeland," Omeragić concludes.
