The competent authorities of Montenegro should once again update the process regarding the illegal arrest of civilians of Bosniak nationality and their deportation to war-torn Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to bring to justice all those who in any way participated in this crime, announced the Bosniak Party. .
These days mark twenty-eight years since the arrest of Bosniak civilians who were then deported to war-torn Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dozens of Bosniak-Muslim refugees were illegally arrested in Montenegro and handed over to the Bosnian Serb army in Bosnia and Herzegovina as hostages. Only twelve deported persons managed to survive the torture in the concentration camps, and the remains of most of the victims have not yet been found, BS reminds.
"This war crime has not yet been punished in accordance with international law. We ask the competent authorities to bring this process up to date again, so that everyone who participated in it in any way can be brought to justice. "This is a serious and unimaginable crime, contrary to all international conventions, and as such it should receive a full judicial epilogue," BS emphasized.
From that party, they appeal "to the public speakers to stop denying the war crime" committed against the fleeing Bosniak civilians, and to establish the criminal responsibility of the perpetrators and those who ordered them through a judicial epilogue.
"We expect that after the election of the new Supreme State Prosecutor, there will be a new prosecutor's investigation in this case. We also support the idea of building a memorial in Herceg Novi, where the largest number of civilian refugees were arrested," the BS statement concludes.
