The president of the Justice and Reconciliation Party (SPP), Hazbija Kalač, will be a candidate in the upcoming presidential elections in Montenegro, it was announced at the party's conference.
Kalač said that he believes in the thesis of the multi-ethnicity of Montenegro, bearing in mind that, as he said, minority peoples made a great contribution to the creation of "Montenegro as it is".
"Our belief and hope is that Montenegro will support this political step forward of ours and that it will show in a practical sense that this is a country of all peoples, that this is a multi-ethnic country, that this is a country that is close to achieving that socio-political ideal of civil society Kalac said.
The vice-president of the SPP, Seid Hadžić, said that the party's goal is to bring the thesis of multi-ethnicity in Montenegro to life in practice and to present a representative from the Bosniak nation in the presidential elections.
Hadžić said that he expects that Kalač will "very easily" collect a sufficient number of signatures for his candidacy.
"We will actively start collecting signatures literally from tomorrow. We expect very strong support, especially from the Bosniak people, but we also expect extremely interesting support from all peoples in Montenegro. This is something new on the political scene of Montenegro and let's show how multi-ethnic we are. This will be a test of the entire society," Hadžić pointed out.
The member of the SPP presidency, Adnan Ademović, explained that the party is being built as a dynamic and enterprising party, which, as he said, will act positively, thoroughly and fairly on the political scene in Montenegro.
"SPP is, without a doubt, ready to prove that it is not a party that passively witnesses political events, but that it is a party of activism and co-constructive participation on the political training ground in Montenegro. We have quality and healthy ideas that will benefit both citizens and and politicians, who so far have not shown a visionary spirit, which is a condition for the success and prosperity of the state and society", assessed Ademović.
He mentioned that, at the end of last year, at the regular election assembly of the Bosniak Democratic Union (BDZ) in Montenegro, new party bodies were elected.
"Mr. Hazbija Kalač, the previous president, was unanimously re-elected as party chairman. The Assembly of BDZ in Montenegro made a decision to change the name of the party, so from December 6.12.2017, XNUMX. this party is called SPP", explained Ademović.
