Podgorica URA once again appealed to the mayor of the capital Ivan Vuković to solve the problem of construction under Ljubović.
The URA reminds that the Capital allowed the construction of a new residential building on the space between four previously built buildings.
"For this reason, we have been calling on the capital city for months to stop the construction and exchange the plots with the investor, as well as for the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism (MORT) to put the aforementioned DUP from 2009 out of legal force and start the thorough rehabilitation of the already devastated area".
The announcement states that "for 11 years, the capital, of which Mayor Vuković was the mayor for two years, consciously turned his head and ran away from the adoption of a new DUP for the part of the city below Ljubović", in order to prevent "urbanistic chaos which according to the old DUP u was allowed and stimulated".
"Then for two months, Vuković defended that disastrous DUP, calling on the institutions to react "only if something is not according to that (visionary) DUP". Then the professional organizations rolled up their sleeves, doing work for free that should have been done by the inspection a long time ago, and delivered dozens of examples of violations of the DUP, which he defended, to Vuković. And since then, for months, Vuković cowardly refuses to speak out and to answer dozens of calls from journalists to defend his role in this process in broadcasts, showing up only at prearranged ceremonies, when a monument should be opened or a flag should be raised," she pointed out. They add that almost two months after the beginning of the negotiations with the investor regarding the exchange of plots, neither "Vuković, as the main culprit of the total chaos, nor his Chief City Architect (GGA) Filip Aleksić, want to publicly announce at what stage these historic negotiations are, and when will cut the Gordian knot below Ljubović".
"It is high time for Mayor Vuković to at least try to do the job for which we pay him handsomely, and answer the questions that depend on the quality of life of several thousand of our fellow citizens, who live in the devastated area below Ljubović. We understand that it is difficult for Vuković to admit his own mistake and see the enormous responsibility that he personally bears in the whole story. But we must not allow that because of his political calculation, the solution of that problem is needlessly stretched, protracted and complicated, but it must be solved as soon as possible," said the URA from Podgorica.
