The dry seedlings in Sinjajevina are an indication of the arrogant and failed policy of the Ministry of Defense, which in this case did not listen to the experts who said that you should not plant seedlings representing non-native species, that is, that pine and spruce should not be planted in the Sinjajevina pasture, said Ljiljana Jokić from of the URA civil movement.
He says that it is enough to read the laws, strategies and other documents in which it is written in black and white that the planting action of the Ministry of Defense has failed, which is also shown by the fact that the seedlings have dried up.
"Montenegro has the highest proportion of forests in Europe. Therefore, further afforestation of agricultural areas is not desirable, but these areas should be preserved and their use encouraged. "Instead of planting in the places designated for that, Minister Bošković would like to reforest the pasture," says Jokić.
She reminds that because of Minister Bošković's plan to turn Sinjajevina's pastures into forests and thus threaten the natural ecosystem on that mountain, the URA Civil Movement filed a criminal complaint against Defense Minister Predrag Bošković in December.
Jokić points out that since then the prosecution has not taken a single step in solving the above and asks who will compensate for the damage caused to the budget of Montenegro?
"We call on Minister Bošković to resign and to stop destroying one of the largest pastures in Europe, and we call on the prosecutor's office, which has not yet done anything in this matter, to do their job efficiently," said Jokić at the end.
