In Budva, where the government was replaced at the beginning of June when the new councilor majority in the city assembly, headed by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), dismissed the previous mayor Marko Carević from the Democratic Front (DF) and the speaker of the parliament Krsto Radović from Democratic Montenegro, it is the DPS that intends to form a broad coalition, with the aim of winning absolute power - 17 out of a total of 33 councilors.
As "Vijesti" unofficially learns, the formation of a coalition which, in addition to the DPS, would include the Social Democrats, as well as the Montenegrin and Liberal parties, is nearing completion. The holder of that list will allegedly be the current president of the Municipality, Nikola Divanović (DPS). On the list of 17 seats, eight council mandates would go to DPS, while the other coalition partners would have two mandates each.
It is still uncertain whether Stevan Džaković will be on the list as a candidate on behalf of Montenegro. Crnogorska and Džaković are supposed to make a decision on how they will participate in the elections by Monday.
On the other hand, the DF started to create a broad local coalition, which, in addition to the New Serbian Democracy, the Democratic People's Party (DNP) and the Movement for Change (PzP), would also include Demos, the Socialist People's Party (SNP), and Prava Budva. Marko Milačić.
The invitation was sent to the URA civil movement to join the list, which is still being prepared. That list will also include several prominent citizens of Budva, doctors of science, professors, historians, it was confirmed by "Vijesti"...
The Democrats will run independently in the elections in Budva, and the holder of the adopted list is Krsto Radović. The list is called "Democrats - Dragan Krapović" and has half of the new names compared to 2016.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP), which expects to repeat the good election results from the local elections in 2016 and the presidential elections in 2018, when their candidate Draginja Vuksanović Stanković achieved unprecedented support in that city, will also compete independently in the elections in Budva.
The URA Civic Movement is also preparing its own list based on the "Black on White" platform at the state level. In addition to well-known people from the URA, names from the Citizens' Association CIVIS and free citizens of Budva are also expected on the list.
As a new political group, the Citizens' Group "Nova Budva" will appear, the establishment of which was initiated by former SNP officials and sympathizers.
