The Kotor Committee of the Citizens' Movement of the URA submitted today the signatures of support and the list for the local elections scheduled for August 30 in that city, it was announced this evening from the General Assembly of the URA.
The president of Kotor URE and leader of the list for Kotor Ljiljana Popović-Moškov said that she is proud of the results achieved by URA.
"We are continuing what we proclaimed four years ago. There is not much to change in the program, and the civil option is the only thing that can get Montenegro out. We have almost half of free-thinking people on the list, and I am delighted because it is a sign that people are waking up . There is no more that folk saying "while a fool speaks, a wise man is silent". URA did not talk, URA worked. The people of Kotor know what URA did for this city in 2017 and 2018. We never worked in the interest of any nation, party, religion or of some lobby. Montenegro doesn't need spendthrifts, but creators. It needs capable people, but not eligible ones," concluded Popović-Moškov.
The president of the URA GP Dritan Abazović said that this party offers a different health, economic, educational and social concept.
"Another of our primary goals is environmental protection. I believe that, as the smallest constituent of the government, we have done a lot for Kotor, and in the future we will continue to defend the goals of the people of Kotor. It is time for a good, honest government, which will personify the wishes of the citizens of Kotor." Abazović pointed out.
He added that they made a promise to the citizens of Kotor and Montenegro that they would open their electoral list.
"This is a great confirmation that Kotor GP URA is trusted. I expect better results and that we will valorize all the goals that we could not achieve in the previous mandate in the next one," said Abazović.
He said that GP URA fulfills its promises, including bringing new ideas.
"Patriotically and civically, we continue our mission in Kotor, with more than 50 percent of women and 40 non-party figures on the electoral list. In the last convocation, we strongly defended the interests of Kotor, and I call on the citizens to give a chance to a new educated government. We should have the ancient Kotor, but also European, like all European cities," Abazović said.
Saša Kovačević, a non-party figure on the election list, said that "it is an extraordinary honor to be a part of this because URA shows that people with attitude, professionals, people of integrity are important to it".
"During the period when she was part of the government, in 2017-2018, she managed to implement some of her initiatives, some partially, some completely. Some of them are that one percent of the budget goes to NGOs, four percent to sports, 40 percent to culture, as well as the fact that agriculture is subsidized. What decided me for this engagement, as Bokelja from a multinational family, is the dilemma, it doesn't matter or it doesn't matter. So I don't like it. We have to save Kotor from primitivism and vandalism, which has begun to deeply destroy the city." , he said.
After the submission of the list, candidate for councilor Milan Đaković, who is also the president of the URE Youth Forum, said that they decided to participate in the elections independently and to open the list to all those who may not have had the opportunity to show themselves.
"URA Kotor has proven that, unlike the corrupt majority, it is capable and capable, the only one with a clear offer of professional and capable people, the only guarantor of Kotor. The only one capable of leading our city," said Đaković.
