SNP: The arrest of the administrator of the mim site is an example of selective justice, we demand an immediate release

The Socialist People's Party of Montenegro strongly condemns it the arrest of the administrator of the mim page whom the police suspect of causing panic and riots, it was announced from this party.

"The arrest of a person who represents the reality in Montenegro in a satirical manner is proof that in our country the impossibility of expressing opinions reigns, and that the verbal offense is being reintroduced as a reason for punishing citizens," they said.

As they point out, this is another in a series of acts of force against people who freely express their views on social networks and another example of selective justice. "While serious lawbreakers walk free and are not held accountable for their crimes, the freedom of speech of many people is being defended simply because their posts do not please the powerful," it added.

"Such cases of detention show that we live in an atmosphere of fear, intolerance and repression, and that freedom of expression does not exist in Montenegro, a candidate country for EU membership, in the 21st century. This practice must not continue and that is why the SNP of Montenegro demands release the administrator of the mim page as soon as possible," the announcement concludes.
