Due to the enormous pressure exerted for weeks on the representatives of the Center for the Protection and Study of Birds (CZIP), open threats, attacks on their property and intimidation with unfounded criminal charges, we call on the Police Directorate (UP) to react urgently and take all measures within its competence, as would put an end to such bullying behavior. It is unfortunate that an NGO in general has to perform the work of state institutions, which for years have been contributing to the destruction of the Montenegrin ecosystem through their inaction, but it is even worse that the UP and prosecutorial bodies are sitting idly by, while the representatives of the CZIP are being threatened and subverted unhindered, so that they will not give up. from the honorable and great work that they have been successfully doing for years, pointed out in the URA Civic Movement.
The URA, as one of the key members of the new government, called on the UP to end its passive relationship and seriously deal with all events related to the CZIP, because the conscious turning of the head and inaction must be answered before the Constitution and laws of Montenegro.
"Everyone must be aware that Montenegro has turned over a new leaf and that any action or inaction, which is contrary to the law, will be properly and decisively sanctioned. Therefore, there is no more room for endless passing of the ball of responsibility, while young people - only because of their noble and altruistic work for the public interest, they attack and bully in such a reckless manner. The UP must take the most urgent measures to protect the representatives of the CZIP and to enable them to work unhindered, in accordance with the positive regulations of Montenegro," the Citizens' Movement pointed out. CZIP representatives have been the target of open threats for weeks, which resulted in an attack on their private property, while today a criminal complaint was filed against them because "with the approval of the UP, they removed illegal hunting devices (decoys)".
