Minister Darmanović and Ambassador Čaba: Euro-Atlantic values are the basis of substantive cooperation between Montenegro and Canada
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Srđan Darmanović, spoke by phone today with the Canadian ambassador to Montenegro on a non-resident basis, Kati Čaba, on the occasion of the end of her mandate.
Darmanović, as announced by the ministry, expressed satisfaction with the excellent cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries, pointing out that the engagement of the ambassador contributed to the intensification of communication and overall bilateral ties. In this context, it is added, Darmanović thanked Ambassador Čaba for her dedication and efforts in dynamizing interstate relations, especially within NATO, as well as for helping the Red Cross of Montenegro in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Belonging to the NATO family and sharing the same Euro-Atlantic values leaves additional space for the improvement of bilateral cooperation, especially through the strengthening of political dialogue," the head of Montenegrin diplomacy pointed out.
Čaba, as announced, pointed out the great potential for further development of interstate cooperation, while thanking Darmanović for the constructive communication during her diplomatic mission. She assessed, according to the ministry, that friendly relations were confirmed during the joint confrontation with the Kovid-19 pandemic. She also emphasized that special attention should be paid to strengthening cooperation in the fields of economy, defense, sustainable development, science and investments, reminding that one of the key investment projects in Montenegro, "Porto Montenegro", is the result of successful cooperation with Canada.
"The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on the current political situation in Montenegro, with the belief that substantive bilateral cooperation will continue in the period to come," the announcement concludes.
