The club of councilors of the Democratic Party of Socialists in the Assembly of the Capital City announced that today's statement by the president of the Podgorica Committee of the Citizens' Movement URA and councilor in the Assembly of the Capital City, Luka Rakčević, whom they called a representative of the interests of large construction capital in Podgorica, is an "unprecedented example of political hypocrisy".
Rakčević said today that the mayor of Podgorica is Ivan Vuković (DPS) caused damage to the capital city's budget of at least 100.000 euros due to inadequate response to the planned construction of residential buildings under the hill Ljubović in Podgorica.
The DPS pointed out that the Capital City, acting in this specific case in the previous months, absolutely stood in the protection of the interests of the citizens who live in the mentioned area, persevering in the intention to build a public park in the urban environment.
"The intentional replacement of theses ignores the fact that, in order for the capital city to be in a position to implement such a project, which is in the interest of the citizens, it must first, in accordance with the law, become the owner of the land on which the park will be built, and this can become by purchase or exchange, and not by hypocritical statements, as the URA thinks," the DPS said.
As they add, the city administration, as always, opted for a more rational approach - exchange. "This creates the condition for building a park in the heart of the settlement, for which, we will remind, the representatives of the URA Construction Movement were advocates, when it was in their political interest. When they noticed that the city administration had already taken concrete steps to provide another a pleasant green corner in Podgorica and that, therefore, they missed the political gain, then, in accordance with their practice, they turned to destruction, criticizing what they themselves stood for".
As for the specific decision on the exchange of property and the invalidation of the DUP that covers the area in question, the DPS notes that their adoption is exclusively within the competence of the Parliament, "so the applications themselves are absolutely meaningless".
"And it will be very interesting how the representatives of the URA Construction Movement will vote. Admittedly, the question is whether Rakčević will appear, since his appearances in the Assembly of the Capital City in the previous two and a half years can be counted on the fingers of one hand. If so, appears, we will see if they will vote in the interest of the citizens or in the interest of the lobby and the policies it represents. So, when you are seriously involved in politics, it is necessary to make important and difficult decisions in the interest of the citizens and the environment you manage. When you are dealing with personal interests, populism and demagoguery , then this kind of hypocrisy as demonstrated today is expected. It is, after all, a field that we are happy to leave to Rakčević, and the management of the capital is a job that must be led by serious people," concluded the Club of DPS Podgorica Councilors.
