Dragaš: At least it deserves a new, modern hospital

Health and social care occupy a special place in the election program of the Social Democrats of Bar for the upcoming local elections, as very important segments of every society, especially one that strives to be a society of social justice and well-being, announced today Simeun Dragaš, a candidate on the list of "Social Democrats - Mićo Orlandić - Consistently for new jobs and the development of Bar".

"The Social Democrats (SD) believe that Bar, as the largest coastal city, deserves a new, modern hospital with much larger capacities and better health services, which would be a kind of health center on the coast. At the same time, this would relieve the capacity of the KBC in Podgorica. We will provide the necessary funds for the development of the project of a new hospital in Bar in cooperation with the competent Ministry of Health, in order to create the preconditions for the realization of this valuable project. By building a new hospital, the problem of housing our elderly citizens due to the lack of a nursing home would be solved, and thus the preconditions would also be created for treatment of patients in the final stages of the disease, known in Europe as "Hospice", which, in this case, would be located in the building of the current hospital "Blažo Jošov Orlandić", Dragaš pointed out.

He added that when it comes to social protection, the Social Democrats will review all social benefits so far and provide a fairer distribution to all social categories, while Dragaš claims that the amount of funds for social benefits will increase by at least 10 percent every year.

"Social services through various programs should be focused on vulnerable categories and those individuals who face serious economic and life difficulties. Social Democrats will work to strengthen programs that provide help and support to the sick, the elderly, the disabled, the homeless, the unemployed, those without appropriate qualifications, addicts, victims of violence, single parents and other socially vulnerable categories. It is necessary that the social services provided to them include quality social work, home help, accommodation, opening of new help and support services. As people of word and deed, we will try to implement all items of our election program, including those related to health and social protection, which will bring a new quality to our municipality.
