The term of office of directors who serve more than two terms in those positions expires

The Assembly adopted amendments to the Law on Health Care, which stipulate that the mandate of the directors of health institutions ends if they have performed this function more than twice continuously or with interruptions.

Amendments to the Law were adopted by the parliamentary majority, which proposed it.

The opposition did not attend the session.

It is prescribed that the election of the directors of health institutions, the founder of which is the state, and whose mandate has ended in accordance with this law, will be carried out within 30 days from its entry into force.

As stated, earlier targeted amendments to the Law on Health Protection through legal "gymnastics" made it possible for individual directors of health institutions to hold these positions for more than two mandates.

"These amendments will specify certain provisions of the law and make it impossible to violate the provision that the same person can be the director of a health institution no more than twice," the explanation says.

Amendments to the Law on Health Care were proposed by MPs Branka Bošnjak, Slaven Radunović, Boris Bogdanović, Dragan Ivanović and Miloš Konatar.

The Assembly adopted amendments to the Law on Civil Servants and State Employees, which, as explained, enables the entry of new personnel into the state administration.

It is stated that, with the new legal solutions, it will be possible to appoint personnel who come from outside the system created by the Democratic Party of Socialists to the position of head of state administration.
