Although it is clear to the entire Montenegrin public that some of the members of the State Election Commission (SEC), by refusing to submit a report on the filling of a vacant parliamentary seat, misused this body to achieve illegal political goals by committing criminal acts, we continue to present new evidence that confirms that thesis, it was announced today from Democratic Montenegro.
"In fact, at the session of the Capital City Assembly on October 29, 10, from which we are providing the public with a recording, Đorđe Suhih, the President of the Capital City Assembly, can be seen at the same time announcing his resignation to the councilor and at the same second reading the report of the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) on filling of the vacant councilor position," the Democrats' announcement states.
From that party, they ask: How in this case did the MEC submit a report on the filling of the vacant councilor position without noting the resignation? Was the MEC obliged to first note the resignations, and then prepare a report on the filling? Why was the violation of the procedure by the MEC not disputed and how did it not affect the filling of vacant councilor positions, the further course and decisions from that and subsequent sessions? Is this case controversial for the parliamentary opposition and its radical parts, which are loud when they dispute the legal decisions of the Parliament of Montenegro?
"Should we add that all this took place at a time when the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of the Capital City did not allow the possibility of councilors participating online or councilors participating in the work of the session from different rooms, which Suhih made possible without any legal basis?", concludes the statement of the Democrats.
