Ambassador of Montenegro in Austria Željko Perović is the only one of the heads of diplomatic and consular representations who did not respond to the consultations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP), which sent an explanation, "Vijesti" was told.
Perović did not come to the MFA, as reported, due to health problems.
The MFA invited all ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions of Montenegro to consultations by January 18, and five ambassadors did not excuse their absence.
They are Miodrag Vlahović (Vatican), Darko Pajović (China), Sanja Vlahović (Italy), Vera Kuliš (Germany) and Nebojša Kaluđerović (USA).
These ambassadors, except for Kaluđerović and Perović, were previously recalled by the MFA. Ambassador to Serbia Tarzan Milošević, ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Dušanka Jeknić and ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Obrad Mišo Stanišić were also recalled. The president of the country, Milo Đukanović, refused to sign the revocation, explaining such a decision by the fact that the proposals were not accompanied by explanations.
Kaluđerović's term expires on January 31, when he retires. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously said that, bearing in mind the fact that failure to attend ambassadorial consultations without a valid reason, represents a serious breach of official duty, they will initiate disciplinary proceedings against the recalled ambassadors.
"With the end of the disciplinary procedure, the recalled ambassadors could end their employment in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the Law on Foreign Affairs, non-execution or negligent, untimely or negligent execution of tasks or orders is considered a serious breach of official duty, for which four possible penalties are provided - a fine, from 20 to 30 percent of the salary paid for the month in which it was imposed, in for a period of up to six months, followed by a ban on being assigned to work in a diplomatic-consular representation for a period of up to two years, a ban on promotion for up to two years and termination of employment.
Đukanović and the Government at consultations regarding the ambassador's return
Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović invited Đukanović to foreign policy consultations yesterday, which, as announced by the Government, should be held on January 26. Abazović's cabinet announced that the ambassador's return will be discussed.
