The presidency of the Democratic Party of Socialists unanimously proposed that Milo Đukanović be the candidate for party president.
Candidates for the vice president of the party - Ivan Vuković, Nikola Rakočević, Jevto Eraković, Andrija Nikolić, Sanja Damjanović, Abaz Dizdarević, Gordana Rajović and Mirsad Mulić - were also proposed for the 9th Congress.
Among the candidates for vice president, there is no name of the former deputy president of the party, Duško Marković.
"Four vice-presidents will be elected out of a total of eight proposed. Also, at the session, the commitment was repeated that in two years, all the presidents of the Municipal Committees, as well as the President of the Party, will be elected by direct voting by the party membership", announced the DPS.
As announced, the Presidency stated that "the Democratic Party of Socialists remains firmly committed to the further development of civil Montenegro, its multi-ethnic and multi-confessional harmony and European future".
"As well as that only such a strong party, with the readiness to cooperate with all political entities that share these values and goals, can be the guarantor of their preservation and realization".
