An agreement was reached regarding the way out of the problem of recalling a number of ambassadors, which was primarily related to public explanations regarding the proposal of the Government of Montenegro.

This was announced after the meeting held between the President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović and the Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović, where the issue of conducting foreign policy was discussed, taking into account the competences of the President of Montenegro and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"It was established that continuous and open communication is a prerequisite for successful cohabitation, the goal of which is to preserve the functionality of the system of the state of Montenegro, its reputation and prestigious place in international relations, and the good results achieved by Montenegro in terms of foreign policy and the European and Euro-Atlantic foreign policy course On that path, the priority is to defend the dignity of politicians, institutions and citizens of Montenegro," states the joint statement delivered by the Information Service of the President of Montenegro.

It is stated that "the clear authority of the President and the Government in the selection process of diplomatic representatives of Montenegro, as well as the right of the Government to have diplomatic representatives be an authentic expression of its foreign policy" is recognized.

"In this context, an agreement was reached regarding the way out of the problem of recalling a number of ambassadors, which was primarily related to public explanations regarding the Government's proposal, and it was agreed that in the further process, the positive practice of foreign policy consultations to be continued, at the level of 3 presidents and of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, which will guarantee a quality dialogue and selection of personnel, which will continue the stable foreign policy course of Montenegro," the statement concludes.
