Raičević: Jokić to initiate the procedure for terminating the contract if he believes that something was illegal

Take advantage of the government's position and respect the initiative of the residents of Velja Gorana, said Bar Municipality President Dušan Raičević to Ljiljana Jokić, a member of the Citizens' Movement URA.

"I am obliged, for the sake of the citizens of Bar, especially the residents of the hamlet of Kovačevići in Velja Gorana, to address you regarding your statement in which you present an incorrect and blanket assessment that I acted against the interests of the residents when it comes to the granting of a concession for detailed geological research and exploitation of the phenomenon mineral raw materials of the technical-building stone "Velja Gorana". I was informed about the problem related to the concession by the residents of the hamlet of Kovačevići and emigrants from that area during the procedure for the selection of concessionaires in this area," said Raičević.

He added that, considering that the initiative of the locals is more than justified, he submitted a request to the Ministry of Economy on September 8, 2020, one month before the decision on the selection of the concessionaire, asking to consider the initiative of the locals for the relocation of the exploration and exploitation area and submitted their request .

"Ms. Jokić, since you are advertising in front of the URE, which in the meantime has achieved the possibility of exercising power at the state level, instead of making accusations against the president of the municipality, it would be more useful if you focused on the interests of the locals and making, as you say, "good decisions for Montenegro" dealt with institutionally. Therefore, I invite you to start the procedure for terminating the contract now, when you are able, if you believe that something was illegal. I also invite you to, even if you determine that everything was legal, change the decision, and thereby honor the request that I sent, which is first and foremost a request from the residents of the Kovačevići hamlet," Raičević said.

According to him, in this way, Jokić will show the best intentions towards the people he is talking about and their needs, as well as the interests of nature, which he wants to represent.

"It would also be advisable, Mrs. Jokić, not to assume the outcomes of the democratic processes, which I hope will be the next local elections, and not to worry about whether I will be in the position of municipal president or not. You will certainly not judge that, that will be decided by the citizens of Bar. And what the residents of Mrkojević, my fellow citizens, and how the citizens of Bar will decide about me, I have no fears," Raičević concluded.
