I understand why my colleagues from the Social Democrats (SD) were upset about the announcement of the abolition of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), Vladimir Martinović, deputy of Democratic Montenegro, said today.
"Nobody will be able to keep quiet about the cases of "Limenka", "Petlja", "Ramada" as loudly as the previous SDT...", wrote Martinović on Twitter.
"Vijesti" announced earlier today that the new government plans to resolve the lack of confidence in the work of the SDT and its leader - Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoj Katnić by abolishing that judicial body and establishing a new, identical jurisdiction - the Prosecutor's Office for the Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption.
SD said that the abolition of SDT is an act of legal violence.
