The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Aleksa Bečić, ended his working visit to the municipality of Nikšić with a meeting with representatives of three religious communities, the Parliament of Montenegro announced.
"Community and solidarity, as the fundamental values of Montenegrin society, represent the most important pillars of multi-confessional and multi-ethnic Montenegro, whose differences are its greatest strengths," said Bečić.
The Assembly adds that Bečić, in separate meetings, spoke with archpriest Osto Knežević and the clergy, the pastor of the church of St. Cyril and Methodius, Don Ivan Ćapalia, as well as with imam Damir Hodžić and Mirsad Agović, president of the mosque board. During his visit to the Temple of St. Basil of Ostrog, the Parish Church of Cyril and Methodius and the Hadži Ismail Mosque, President Bečić was convinced that the multi-confessional harmony in Nikšić, despite numerous challenges in the past, represents Montenegro in the best way.
"The messages of tolerance and mutual respect that marked the meetings with representatives of religious communities are the best confirmation that civil Montenegro can never and must not have an alternative," concluded the Parliament of Montenegro.
