In the local elections in Nikšić, which are considered as an important signal for the stabilization or swaying of government at the state level, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will participate in a coalition with the Social Democrats, the Liberal Party, the Patriot-Comit Alliance, while the two civil coalitions will most likely go to alliance with the parties - the Democratic Front and the Democrats, was confirmed by the "News" from several sources.
The deadline for submitting ballots for the March 14 elections is a few days away - Tuesday, February 16. So far, only the URA has officially presented the list and announced an independent election under the slogan "Može Nikšić", while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and "Narodni pokret", recently founded by businessman Miodrag Daka Davidović, will appear independently.
It was unofficially confirmed to "Vijesti" from the DPS that they will go to the elections in a coalition with the Social Democrats, the Liberal Party, and the Patriotic-Comit Alliance, and that the coalition will be led by Sanja Damjanović, the former Minister of Science and vice-president of that party.

"Sanja is the most serious candidate, and our list will include people who are not politically 'spent', as well as people with 'clean' biographies that the people of Nikšić will recognize as people ready to help their city. There will also be places for distinguished civic activists, creators , people who are not politically engaged. Journalist Dragoljub Ilić, doctor Dejan Perović, architect Nebojša Adžić will also be on our list," DPS told "Vijestima".
As for the coalition "For the future of Nikšić", it will be led by Marko Kovačević. The Democratic Front, the Socialist People's Party, the United Montenegro, the Workers' Party and the recently founded movement "For the Life of Nikšić", which consists of doctors and intellectuals, participants in last year's litias, will appear together on the list.
The alliance unofficially says that they are open to all new movements and that by February 16, the number of constituents of the coalition may increase.

"We are still negotiating with the coalition 'For the future of Nikšić'. The decision on a joint performance exists, we just need to define the agreement," told "Vijesta" from the movement "For the life of Nikšić".
MP Momo Koprivica will probably lead the Democrats in the elections.

"Vijesti" was unofficially told that an intra-party procedure is underway and that they have not yet made a final decision on whether they will appear independently or in a coalition. Unofficially, we learn that that party will go to the elections on March 14 in a coalition with Demos, as well as that they are negotiating with the new political movement "Ne damo Nikšić", led by Gordana Radović, economic advisor to the Prime Minister of Montenegro.
The movement "Ne damo Nikšić" said that they have not yet made a final decision and that they are still "weighing" whether to perform independently or not.
The president of the Nikšić board of the Socialists, Svetozar Golubović, told "Vijesta" that they are negotiating with the parties that are the opposition at the local level about a joint performance, not wanting to reveal who it is.

The list of GP URA, which, as previously announced, will be headed by Tatjana Đurišić Bečanović, will also include non-party figures. The list includes 19 women, four doctors of science, the same number of masters, pensioners, students, entrepreneurs, restaurateurs...

There are, among others, Goran Šućur, Predrag Peđa Nikolić, Mirko Pavićević, Borislav Boro Kankaraš, Anđela Mijanović, Nebojša Gorašević, Đorđije Đoko Manojlović, Nikola Batrićević...
SDP will be led by the president of that party in Nikšić, Željko Nikolić, and there will also be doctors Zoran Mrkić, Lidija Ognjenović, Rade Kovač, Marko Kastratović.

The current government in Nikšić is held by the DPS and the SD, because in the previous elections, the then opposition parties did not go to the polls. The rating of DPS has been on the decline lately, which was confirmed in the recent parliamentary elections. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 58.544 citizens have the right to vote in the March elections in Nikšić.
