Bogdanović: We reject the claims of Katnić and the special factory of lies, the accusations are the fantasy of the outgoing prosecutor

We reject with indignation the claims and constructions of the chief special prosecutor (GST) Milivoj Katnić and his apparatus widely known as a special factory of lies, announced today Boris Bogdanović, president of the Club of Deputies of Democratic Montenegro.

Earlier today, Katnić said that at the extended session of the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office, where the announced changes to the Law on the State Prosecutor's Office and the Law on the Special State Prosecutor's Office were discussed, he stated that he was ready to resign, in case the initiators of the initiative for the adoption of these laws give up from the same, and to undertake that they will not submit the same until the end of the mandate of this parliamentary convocation.

Katnić also said that on February 10, 2021, he officially spoke with the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Zdravko Krivokapić, who, according to Katnić, informed him that, in the event of his resignation, the deputies of Democratic Montenegro and the Civic Movement URA would give up proposal to amend the Law on the State Prosecutor's Office and the Law on the Special State Prosecutor's Office",

"These are fabricated and extremely mundane accusations that have no basis in reality and are probably just one of a series of publicly known fantasies of the outgoing special state prosecutor. No one from Democratic Montenegro has ever traded or played with the laws of this country. Before us are judicial reforms that begin with organizational and personnel changes and that will eliminate the brakemen on our path to the EU, which has no alternative," Bogdanović pointed out.

He added that the offer of resignation in exchange for withdrawing the reform changes to the law is a classic trade.

"Obviously, Katnić comes from some other reality where you can trade with the fate of the state or citizens, but there is no trade with the Democrats, nor has there ever been nor will there ever be. Reforms in the prosecution will be implemented, and the resignation of the personification of the unprofessionalism of this body will will not stop. The judiciary of this country will not and cannot depend on Milivoje Katnić or any individual. Montenegro is building institutions that will fight uncompromisingly against all forms of corruption and crime. That is why it is necessary for Milivoje Katnić to leave immediately and unconditionally," said Bogdanović. .
