Bečić: The SDT's attempt at political pressure confirms that reforms of Montenegrin institutions are a necessity

The President of the Parliament of Montenegro said that reforms of Montenegrin institutions are a necessity.

Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoje Katnić said earlier today that at the extended session of the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office, where the announced changes to the Law on the State Prosecutor's Office and the Law on the Special State Prosecutor's Office were discussed, he stated that he was ready to resign, in case the petitioners for the enactment of these laws to waive the same, and to undertake not to submit the same until the end of the mandate of this parliamentary convocation.

"Today's attempt to put political pressure on MPs and the highest legislative chamber in the country by SDT only further confirms that the reforms of Montenegrin institutions are a necessity. Of course, continuous communication with our international partners is also important, because our goal is the same," said Bečić on Twitter.

The President of the Assembly says that "it is a true and courageous fight against organized crime and corruption and the acceleration of Montenegro's European path".
