The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) announced that Democratic Montenegro "owes all citizens an explanation of what information they received from the Special State Prosecutor's Office from Special Prosecutor Savović".
The DPS states that the Democrats should give an answer to the question "how is it that until yesterday their highest officials were saying that they had heard for the first time that Savović was the son of a special state prosecutor", and that "it clearly turns out that they are in favor of that knew for years and obviously used that circumstance in an illegal way".
"Today, the general public of Montenegro had the opportunity to become familiar with the shocking findings, which are supported by recordings of conversations, published by the Special State Prosecutor's Office. Today's press conference, which was full of contradictory and confused performances by their representatives, confirmed that the representatives of this party are not ready to in action, they demonstrate respect for the principle of equality of all citizens before the law," the DPS press release states.
They add that this is supported by the fact that "instead of respecting the ongoing procedure, they are embarking on the dirtiest labeling of representatives of the prosecution organization".
"Misleading the public about the alleged illegal wiretapping and monitoring. From today's files that the public had the opportunity to see, it is completely clear that the Court approved the implementation of secret surveillance measures, but it is obvious that the Democrats hypocritically think that they, unlike the rest of the citizens of Montenegro, cannot be the subject in relation to which these measures are implemented".
DPs also states that "we have a clear opportunity to see how the new "democratic" government functions".
"Which, obviously completely unfounded, attributes transparency to itself. It is clear that this characteristic is just one more in a series of populist and marketing platitudes, with which this government forcibly and falsely wants to demonstrate some comparative advantage in relation to the DPS government. Having in view of the presumption of innocence, as well as the jurisdiction of the prosecutor's office, our party will insist that this case be brought to an end in a legally valid manner and that all elements of this event be examined," the statement concludes.
