The United Kingdom (UK) remains a partner of Montenegro in the fight against organized crime and corruption, the country's ambassador Karen Maddox said at a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović.
Abazović, as announced by his cabinet, met today with Maddox and defense attache in Podgorica and Tirana Christopher Majkok.
Maddox said that, despite her country leaving the European Union, the UK remains an important partner of Montenegro.
"The UK remains a partner of Montenegro in the fight against organized crime and corruption," said Maddox.
Abazović said that Montenegro and the UK have traditionally good relations and that further cooperation should be continued in that spirit.
He said that the successful relationship should continue especially in the area of rule of law, as well as defense and security.
Abazović informed Madoks about the activities that the Government is carrying out and the priorities for future work.
He pointed out that the fight against crime and corruption are priorities in the Government's work, and that, despite the obstructions in the previous two months, a lot has been done in that regard.
Abazović introduced Maddox to the Government's activities in the fight against the coronavirus and the problems the Government faced when it took office at the beginning of December last year.
