The Municipal Election Commission (MEC) in Nikšić returned the electoral list of the Citizens' Group called "Grade moj" for revision, and accepted the other six for participation in the upcoming local elections on March 14.
The President of the MEC, Rade Perišić, told the MINA agency that the Citizens' Group was allowed to correct irregularities within 48 hours, because otherwise the list of councilors would be rejected.
The group of citizens was the last to hand in the list of councilors last night around 22:30 p.m. The handing in of electoral rolls was concluded at midnight, in accordance with the law.
The list of councilors under the slogan "Heart for Nikšić" was the first to be submitted by the Social Democratic Party (SDP), whose leader is Željko Nikolić, while the second was the Civic Movement of URA and non-party personalities - Black and white "Može Nikšić", led by Tatjana Đurišić- Bečanović.
The People's Movement, the third, submitted a list of councilors under the slogan "For the resurrection of Nikšić", and the holder is its founder, Miodrag Davidović.
Yesterday, the coalition European Team for Nikšić submitted the list to the municipal election commission, under the slogan "Together we are changing the city for the better", whose holder is Sanja Damjanović. The coalition consists of: Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Social Democrats (SD), Liberal Party (LP) and Patriotic-Comity Alliance (PTK).
And the coalition "Peace is our nation - surround freedom", which consists of Democratic Montenegro, the newly founded Movement Ne Damo Nikšić, Demos, the Party of Pensioners with Disabilities and Restitution and independent intellectuals Plenum 083, yesterday handed in the board list, whose holder is Momo Koprivica.
The coalition "For the future of Nikšić - Nikšić decides on the future" handed in the list of councilors yesterday, whose holder is Marko Kovačević. The coalition includes the Democratic Front, the Socialist People's Party (SNP), the Movement for the Life of Nikšić, the Workers' Party, United Montenegro, the Yugoslav Communist Party, the Serbian Radical Party, the Movement of Pensioners and the Disabled, and the Socialists of Montenegro.
In the local elections in Nikšić, 58.544 citizens have the right to vote, according to the data announced by the Ministry of Interior on January 5, and the voter list is finalized ten days before the elections scheduled for March 14.
In the last parliamentary elections on August 30, 58.440 thousand citizens had the right to vote in Nikšić.
Local elections were held in Nikšić in March 2017, which were boycotted by the opposition, and where 26.322 thousand citizens or 45 percent of registered voters turned out to vote.
