The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announced that after a thorough check of the premises of the diplomatic-consular representation in China by employees of the Embassy, it was confirmed that the seal is not in the premises of the Embassy, and that they will inform the competent authorities in Montenegro about this.
The MFA reacted to the occasion the allegation of the impeached ambassador to China, Darko Pajović, that "all official documents, keys, seals and bank cards (...) are located in the premises of the Embassy" and related media announcements.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs claims that they have correspondence in which Pajović demands that all official acts of the Embassy be delivered to him for stamping, even though he is not at the Embassy, which is a confirmation that the stamp is with him.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has correspondence between the former ambassador Pajović and the temporary chargé d'affaires in which, among other things, the impeached ambassador demands that all official acts of the Embassy be delivered to him for stamping, at a time when he is not at the Embassy. Apart from the confirmation that the official seal is still in the possession of Mr. Pajović, from the correspondence it is clear that Mr. Pajović requests that the official documentation of the Embassy be taken out and stamped outside the premises of the diplomatic-consular representation, which is an unacceptable way of functioning in diplomatic practice, i.e. in the official system. , it is stated in the reaction of the MFA.
They point out that this situation greatly complicates procedures related to regular diplomatic activities, daily consular services to Montenegrin citizens, issuing visas to Chinese citizens, as well as communication with the institutions of the receiving country and the diplomatic corps, for which the seal of the Embassy is necessary.
"The MVP will inform the competent authorities of Montenegro about the above in order to determine whether the actions of the recalled ambassador contain elements of misdemeanor or criminal responsibility, and act in accordance with the findings of the competent authorities," the ministry concludes.
