Nikšić, the former workers' capital, is today an economically neglected town. Our ambitious, but at the same time realistic plan, is to open a minimum of 500 jobs in production within a four-year mandate, announced Tijana Krivokapić, candidate for councilor from the Crno na bijelo list in Nikšić.
As she said, during the mandate in which the Black and White coalition participates in the local Nikšić government, the over-indebted Municipality of Nikšić will be freed from debt and in four years will reduce the municipality's debt by 10 million euros.
"We will conduct an audit of all major tenders that caused controversy in the public. Such are the tenders for the swimming pool, the town square, road reconstruction, installation of lighting... Nikšić, the second municipality in terms of population, needs a business zone. That is why we will activate the Nikšić business zone and develop plan for individual businesses", stated Krivokapić.
As she pointed out, to that end, she will implement private-public partnership projects in the relationship between municipalities and domestic or foreign investors, and investment in local and regional projects will be realized in agreement with the Government of Montenegro.
"One of the important projects in our mandate will be a recycling center that will be built by a renowned American company for the processing of all types of waste - municipal, commercial, industrial and medical. The project will be implemented on the basis of a private-public partnership with a foreign, already mentioned, American investor, where about 230 of our fellow citizens will find work".
According to Krivokapić, the municipality will also work on other projects that include partnerships with domestic food producers, storage and production of teas, jams and juices, finished and semi-finished products, as well as subsidizing the aforementioned activities for a year or two.
"In our proposal for developing the economy of Nikšić, we plan to revive the Nikšić market by reducing the lease of stalls and enabling all interested food producers to display their products. During our mandate, the municipality of Nikšić will implement a number of self-employment projects through incentives in the form of subsidies and administrative assistance, which foresees fast deadlines for dealing with the bureaucracy or issuing temporary papers until the final ones are issued", said Krivokapić.
According to her, priority will be given to the unemployed, people with disabilities (even more than 50 percent) and pensioners who start a business with the intention of employing other people in all incentive measures of the Black on White list for the revival of the economy in Nikšić.
"We will work diligently to stimulate female entrepreneurs by means of subsidies for contributions, utilities and local taxes for female entrepreneurs starting a business. If they employ more than five people, additional subsidies are provided in the form of land or space for work, on favorable or free terms, in depending on the project and business plan offered to the municipality. Stimulation of the tourism industry includes subsidies for utilities per m² for all tourism projects of 50-70 percent, then the services of the city's tourist agency and free consultations, as well as advertising at favorable prices on the website of the municipal tourist agency." explains Krivokapić.
He points out that, in order to stimulate the local economy, he will organize the campaign I buy in my city, which entails the issuance of a city card of Nikšić and an agreement with businessmen that card holders have a certain discount for all purchases in commercial shops in the territory of the Municipality of Nikšić.
"We will also stimulate production jobs by giving land for free or on favorable terms for a certain period, whereby we will organize the purchase of products by local sellers, but wider trade networks can also be involved. In order to develop the economy, we will organize meetings between local companies and potential foreign investors, at least once a year, with the patronage of the municipality".
As she said, during the four years of the future mandate of the Black and White coalition, the municipality of Nikšić will restore its old glory as a business center and a working town.
