War crimes cannot become obsolete, and it is society's obligation not to allow oblivion to cover the crime committed at the station in Štrpci 28 years ago, announced the Bosniak Party on the occasion of marking the anniversary of the kidnapping and murder of 19 passengers, who, according to them, were Serbian paramilitary forces committed against Bosniaks abducted from the train at Štrpci station.
"That terrible crime must not be forgotten and Štrpci must never be repeated to anyone. It will be remembered that innocent people were killed just because of their name. The state institutions must do everything to prosecute the instigators and perpetrators of this crime," the BS stated.
They point out that it is not only a matter of discovering and punishing this crime, but a civilizing and moral obligation of all people in Montenegro towards all victims. They said that the Bosniak Party will not allow that crime to be forgotten.
"Confronting the past and elucidating all crimes is the path to essential democratization of society and reconciliation between peoples. That is why it is important that this crime receives a judicial epilogue, because reconciliation rests on the truth," concludes the BS statement.
