The relations between Montenegro and Germany are characterized by intense political dialogue and substantive cooperation, as evidenced by the recent visit of the head of Montenegrin diplomacy to Berlin, as well as the virtual conversation between Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
This was assessed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Đorđe Radulović, who spoke today in an online format with the Minister of State for Europe in the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Mihaela Roth.
"Radulović said that Montenegro and Germany are friends, partners and allies, and that we are strongly committed to improving the ties between Podgorica and Berlin. Along these lines, he emphasized that the foreign policy priorities remain the same, and that our country is firmly committed to becoming a member of the European Union of the Union, which was also strengthened by the strong support of the citizens. The head of Montenegrin diplomacy said that the Government is ready to implement reforms and fulfill its obligations in order to start closing the chapter as soon as possible, and that Germany's support for the further process of negotiations is encouraging for us," they said. from the ministry.
According to Kasko, Minister Roth assessed that interstate relations are very good and that there is room for their further improvement, and he emphasized that Germany is committed to the European aspirations of Montenegro and the Western Balkans, as well as to strengthening the ties of our societies and peoples.
"The German minister said that Montenegro represents an example in the Western Balkans, and that they appreciate the commitment of our country to strengthening the rule of law, democracy and media freedom. In this context, he said that we can count on Germany's support, bearing in mind how challenging these issues are not only for the countries of the Western Balkans, but also for individual EU members."
The press release states that the ministers also exchanged opinions on the current situation in the country, where they pointed out the importance of preserving progress in the area of the rule of law, multi-ethnic and multi-religious harmony.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of continuing communication regarding specific projects, while considering the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the field of vaccination of citizens.
