The Vice-President of the Democrats, Zdenka Popović, condemned the pressure on the workers of the Aluminum Plant and asked the competent state authorities to urgently take measures within their jurisdiction.
"I just received such a statement that today is circulating from worker to worker and who are being asked to sign it against their will, so I am presenting it to the public," she said.
She stated that this pressure was carried out at the behest of Veselin Pejović, and that he ordered all managers to "practically force employees to sign a standard statement of support for him and the company Uniprom".
Popović believes that no individual should be stronger than the state of Montenegro, and that no one has the right to limit or threaten the rights of workers.
"The institutions of the system are obliged to resolutely, consistently and responsibly apply the law in order to put an end to pressures and open violations of the laws of this country," she stated in her statement.
Democrat MP Vladimir Martinović also called on the competent authorities to investigate the affairs of Uniprom KAP owner Veselin Pejović.
He wrote on his Twitter account that Pejović "thought he could be stronger than the state and blackmail it."
Martinović wrote that Pejović should be "urgently prosecuted, and the state should terminate all contracts with him".
