Damjanović: We should repair our house, not tear it down

The holder of the "European Team for Nikšić" list, Sanja Damjanović, told the citizens of Nikšić at the final press conference that on Sunday, March 14, they should not choose political parties, but rather political programs.

"They are actually choosing people who will lead them towards instability, fear and economic collapse or those people who will lead them towards the European future, development and prosperity", said Damjanović and told the citizens of Nikšić to circle number one on Sunday, because they are on first place.

She reiterated that the program of the coalition she leads, which consists of DPS, SD, the Liberal Party and the Patriotic-Comity Alliance, is superior and that it brings 2.000 jobs, as well as that there is no reason for others to interfere in local elections that concern only Nikšićanka and of Nikšić.

"These are local elections that will bring the people of Nikšić a better tomorrow. There is no European country where you will see that various other factors and countries of the region interfere in local elections", said Damjanović and emphasized that Nikšić will be the backbone of the defense of Montenegro.

Answering a journalist's question about how she comments on accusations by the local opposition that DPS is known for crime and corruption, she said that the party has achieved numerous successes in the last 30 years, that it has promoted peace, multi-ethnic and multi-religious harmony and brought Montenegro from the worst economy in the region. after the breakup of Yugoslavia, until the best before the covid crisis. She told all those who criticize them that they are welcome to work together with them.

"I say to those who criticize, let's come and work together, let's not destroy the foundations. We need to repair our house, we know that, we got a lesson, but we don't need to demolish our house, we must not demolish it and we will not let it collapse", said the holder of the "European Team for Nikšić" list.

Jefto Eraković, a candidate for councilor, said that the final conference was a winner and that he could announce this based on impressions, survey results and the energy that is present among the men and women of Nikšić.

"We are sure of victory because we have a team that is the best, a team that has a vision, a team that has knowledge, a team that has references. We are sure of victory because we have positive messages, we don't think about divisions and we don't accuse any of our fellow citizens, our neighbors, our friends. We are running a positive campaign and that will be the government in the new European team for Nikšić, in Nikšić and in the new local self-government", said Eraković.

He said that, if measures are violated during the election, those in charge of implementing and monitoring epidemiological measures will be responsible for that.

"We want the election process to pass as befits the people of Nikšić, we want the election process to take place in a completely regular manner, and under such conditions the 'European team for Nikšić' will win", said Eraković.

Zoran Vukićević, president of the Nikšić DPS and candidate for councilor, presented the social protection program and the plan to turn the Home for the Elderly in Nikšić into a gerontological center, which includes home accommodation, help at home and day care for the elderly.

"Nikšić is the forerunner of this in Montenegro, and I think Nikšić belongs to this part of becoming the first gerontological center and we will certainly do it," said Vukićević.

He said that all 25 geronto-homemakers will be employed in the Home for the Elderly, the future gerontological center, and pointed out that the relevant ministry has brought an unfair article, which means that women who have completed primary school will no longer be able to provide geronto-homemaker services. He reminded that they have been doing this work for several years and that they have gained experience and knowledge.

He also said that the co-payment for these services, which the users are unable to pay, was increased by the ministry instead of being reduced, because the economic situation is difficult, and said that at the next municipal session, he will make a decision to co-pay the difference from the funds. local budget.

He also announced a new call center where the oldest fellow citizens will be able to call and receive free transportation.

Kristina Šćepanović said that the local elections will not only decide whether Nikšić will remain on the European path, but whether "Montenegro will remain consistent with its libertarian spirit on which it was founded."
