I call on the young people of Nikšić to refrain from any provocations or incidents, especially today, announced the president of the Center for Affirmation and Development of Youth, Miloš Mašković
The Center for Affirmation and Development of Youth said that local elections are being held in Nikšić today, and that days ago young people were usually the main participants in various gatherings of support for political parties, as well as in incidents.
They added that the local elections in Nikšić have been in the focus of the Montenegrin and regional public for weeks, as well as all the events accompanying the election process in that city.
Mašković called on the youth of Nikšić to vote freely, and to refrain from provocations and incidents, especially today.
"I invite all the young men and women of Nikšić to vote freely today, and to go to their homes after going to the polls and to stay there even after the announcement of the election results in order to avoid any possible provocations or incidents that have been simmering in that city for the past few weeks." said Maskovic.
He added that the choice of the political option of the youth should be their choice.
"I believe that young people will resist the pressures and that their vote will be truly their choice, which is based on the values they inherit and critical thinking. Young people must not be subject to pressure from political options, friends or family. No one has the right to influence them. By law blackmail and threats to voters are prohibited, and prison sentences go up to three years. Also, it is important that young people know that there are also non-governmental organizations that monitor the elections in Nikšić and to which they can report all election irregularities," Mašković said.
