Any investor who is interested in investing in Montenegro will have to have revised techno-economic and environmental studies from the most renowned companies and will be waiting for the assessments of our experts and experts of Green Europe, which will be crucial for us, and not, as it is so far was the case, a racket was prepared by the Government and local powerful people, said the president of the Mojkovac board of GP URA, B.Sc. Ivan Ašanin, MSc.
"The URA civil movement will always be for the application of laws that will apply equally to everyone, for transparency and for the respect of environmental standards. That's why we are the only ones from this area and accepted into the family of the Greens of Europe, although many these days refer to this fact ironically, trying to they discredit us," said Ašanin.
He said that this attitude of URE applies equally to ongoing projects, but also to all future ones, whether it is about oil exploration or starting a mine, and added that these days accusations against URE are coming from all sides, including those who benefited from such projects.
"URA is for the zinc, lead and copper mine in Mojkovac, but not for that tailings dump, but for compliance with the strictest environmental regulations of the European Union (EU) in that area. Can the environment be adequately protected by opening the mine, experts will say. ", said Ashanin.
He also said that they also communicated this to the President of the Municipality of Mojkovac, Ranko Mišnić, because, as he said, they were interested in the project and met the line ministry through the State Secretary, headed by Minister Ratko Mitrović, with whom Deputy Prime Minister Dritan also spoke directly. Abazovic.
"The new tailings dump will not be built in the way it was done before, that is, I guess, clear to everyone. We cannot help but remind ourselves and note that many, including the most ardent critics of URE, in the last few days, cashed in their "pockets over one and a half million euros during the rehabilitation of tailings, all through "wild" companies opened ad hoc, without any licenses or legal framework, and all under the protection of the system of absolute power. That will no longer happen," said Ašanin.
He pointed out that he was primarily referring to the founder of the first environmental society "Tara" in Mojkovac, Vlatko Rakočević, who recently accused URU of hypocrisy, as they said, because he allegedly supports the opening of mines in Mojkovac, but does not support oil platforms.
"It is no coincidence that Rakočević is attacking URU right now, he is getting closer to fighting in Mojkovac. I am afraid that if the controversy spreads, we would come to suspicious actions surrounding the solidification of the now former tailings dump. We would not want Rakočević and others like him to think that what is buried in the ground cannot be examined afterwards. Our people say "the seed of the state germinates in the tenth year", said Ašanin, adding that, as he said, "not a single spruce tree could be cut down without a percentage going to the local DB head ".
"That's why Rakočević did not react to the felling of forest complexes, including those of rare species that were cut down by foresters in cooperation with the leaders of the previous, also DPS, local government. The criminal charges are in the drawers of the Prosecutor's Office. Unlike the URE, Rakočević did not speak out, even mini-hydroelectric power plant on the Štitarićka River when the investor was supposed to be the nephew of Bran Mićunović, but not around the others. We are, and the people of Mojkov know all this," said Ašanin.
As he said, in the fall, after the local elections, he will ask the citizens of Mojkovac what they think about such projects through a referendum or in some other way.
"With all precisely determined measures and with the opinion of EU experts, the citizens will decide on them. We have witnessed how many young people, as well as other fellow citizens, have moved out thanks to people like Rakočević. "Nikšić. Even more drastically, the former government will pass soon in Herceg Novi, in the fall in Mojkovac, and so on - until oblivion," concluded Ašanin.
