The Municipal Convention of the Social Democrats elected a new municipal committee in Cetinje, which at the first session elected Dejan Milošević as the chairman of the committee, according to the announcement of the Social Democrats of Montenegro.
As stated in the announcement, the president of the Social Democrats, Ivan Brajović, thanked all those present for their past work and engagement in the party, emphasizing the expectation that the committee will work with even greater intensity in the coming period. He especially thanked the former chairman of the board, Dr. Ivan Gazivoda, for the exceptional contribution he made to Cetinje and the Social Democrats.
"Slobodarsko Cetinje always knew how to give a clear answer to those policies that threatened to threaten Montenegro. So even today, at a time when civil, multi-religious, multinational, anti-fascist, secular Montenegro is threatened by the new government, we all come here, to Cetinje, to refresh ourselves and breathe energy for the fight that lies ahead of us in order to preserve these values," said Brajović, adding that "Cetinje has always been, is and will be a place that, even in the most difficult times, preserves the Montenegrin spark that lights up the sky above this stone of ours and does not allow the clouds of darkness to rise over Montenegro".
"That's why, dear friends, I am convinced that all of you, as before, will be worthy of the task before us - to preserve that Montenegro that we have been waiting for a whole century, and have been painstakingly building since the referendum in 2006," said Brajović.
In the announcement, they also stated that the president of the Social Democrats of Cetinje, Dejan Milošević, also thanked the former president of the board, Dr. Ivan Gazivoda, as well as the members of the Municipal Board for their trust.
"We in Cetinje have local elections coming up, which, I believe, will be groundbreaking and historic for our city. I would like to remind you that after August 30 of last year, Montenegro was permanently exposed to both national, political and media pressures, and that only through progressive action our party needs and must strengthen our civil, secular and Montenegrin society, to the satisfaction of all Montenegrin citizens," Milošević said.
