The session of the Constitutional Committee, which was scheduled for today at noon, was postponed at the request of the representative of Democratic Montenegro, Vladimir Martinović.
The date of the new session will be determined later.
Explaining the proposal, Martinović said that the MPs had a lot of work to do in the past week in connection with the preparation of parliamentary questions and the prime minister's hour, and they did not have enough time to properly process the materials received for the session.
"I would suggest to the president and other members of the committee that we move today's session of the Constitutional Committee to another date, in order to have a little more time, because we have very serious materials in front of us... In my opinion, as someone who is a lawyer, I would not like today we are making a quick decision about them, but I think it is expedient to give some additional time", said Martinović.
Board members from the opposition DPS also agreed with the proposal.
The President of the Committee, Simonida Kordić, said that in the previous days, they had similar comments from the opposition, that more time is needed to process the materials more thoroughly.
"None of this is conditioned by deadlines that would be missed by a possible delay," said Kordić.
On the agenda of the Committee was the election of the deputy president of the Constitutional Committee,
Adoption of the Report on the work of the Constitutional Committee for the year 2020, Adoption of the Work Plan of the Constitutional Committee for the year 2021.
Members of Parliament should also consider the Initiative for constitutional review of Article 17 and Article 197 paragraph 2 of the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, Proposal for constitutional review of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government, Proposal for review of the constitutionality of the Law on Alternative Dispute Resolution, Proposal for review of constitutionality The Law on Amendments to the Law on Confidentiality of Data, the proposal for the evaluation of the constitutionality and legality of the Decision on the Adoption of the Detailed Spatial Plan for the area of the multi-purpose reservoir on the Komarnica River and the report of the Commission for the Selection of Two Judges of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro.
