The Municipal Election Commission (MEC) in Nikšić determined today the final results of the local elections held on March 14 in that city.

The President of the MEC, Rade Perišić, told the MINA agency that the report on the results will be published in the Official Gazette of Montenegro, as well as forwarded to the service of the Nikšić Municipal Assembly, which will schedule its constituent session within 15 days from the date of publication.

"At the session, in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, the number of council mandates will be verified in accordance with the results of the local elections," said Perišić.

According to the legal procedure on the formation of government, the constitutive session of the Municipal Assembly is convened by its current president, which will be presided over by the oldest councilor.
