Businessman Vasilije Miličković, who today made his candidacy for the president of Montenegro official, said that his victory would mean the end of the partyocracy, and assessed that all the opposition, as well as a large number of voters of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), will vote for him.
At a conference for journalists, organized by the Citizens' Group "Civil Action", on the occasion of the official promotion of his presidential candidacy, Milicković assessed that Montenegro requires radical social changes, "because we have reached the bottom according to all parameters".
As he stated, the political scene is more like a "stale pond that stinks more and more every day and threatens to threaten the biological survival of our people, which is the result of the partitocratic rule in Montenegro."
"Political parties, as by far the worst segment of our society, and especially their leaders, have become so weak and forgotten about personal responsibility that their behavior offends common sense every day," Milicković believes.
He said that the fact that he has spent years trying to save 11 million EUR of public interest gives him the right to ask for the trust of all citizens in the presidential campaign.
"And this time I will work exclusively in the public and state interest, and I will not disappoint them. Without their support, there is no freedom in Montenegro," Milicković said.
Asked if he expected to collect 7,7 thousand signatures in order for the State Election Commission to make his candidacy official, Milicković said that he would not have entered the campaign if he did not believe in it.
"The DPS candidate will finish it in a minute, he will take it out of the computer, and I will have to put in a lot of effort and go from house to house. At the start, you can see how equal we are," said Milicković.
He said that he will finance the campaign "dominantly from his own pocket, unlike them, who will finance it all from the pockets of the citizens of Montenegro.
When asked whether his candidacy will lead to an overflow of votes within the opposition, Milicković said that he is sure that, as soon as they hear his program, all opposition voters will support his candidacy and vote for him.
"I also count on a huge number of DPS voters, especially high-ranking ministers, DPS deputies, and many DPS directors, because they live in unprecedented fear of Milo Đukanović. They will be happy if Vasilije wins, because they will also feel freedom," Milicković said.
He said that his victory in the presidential elections would mean "the end of partitocracy, fraud, the end of any individual power above the law".
"The law will be above all citizens of Montenegro. The rule of law is my ultimate goal, as well as the protection of the most vulnerable population," Milicković said.
