In the coming period, we plan to introduce a special service that will refer to home help for people with disabilities, said Vesna Samardžić from the coalition for the future of Herceg Novi and Boka.
"From 2013, when we went into the urban development project, until today, when we have a finished facility in Sutorina, I can express my satisfaction with the opportunities that this facility will provide for people with disabilities, that is, children and young people in Herceg Novi," said Samardžić. .
She said that taking care of the most vulnerable categories of the population is "certainly a big responsibility, but also a very beautiful task, which when it is successfully completed, you feel satisfaction and great pleasure."
"In addition to the services of the day care center, in this facility, through the transformation of the institution, we will also provide the possibility for the service to be provided to people over the age of 27, otherwise, in Sutorina, we will develop a special specialized center that will combine various types of services related to people with disability," her announcement states.
She stated that the coalition for the future of Herceg Novi and Boke believes that in this way they make a strong contribution to social and child protection, especially when it comes to the most vulnerable category.
"In the same way, the novelty that we will introduce in the next term will definitely refer to the service "respite from parenthood" where parents will be able to leave their children for up to five days in a fully equipped space that is suitable for people with disabilities, with whom they will professional workers, special education teachers, psychologists, social workers and medical staff will stay," said Samardžić.
She added that the local action plan for people with disabilities also represents a strong incentive and certain activities that will be organized in the coming period, which primarily concern the opening of the office for people with disabilities in early June, where, as she says, in addition to the basic database, deal with the provision of all those services and coordination and assistance to all persons with disabilities who need such assistance and which they themselves are unable to provide.
"Also, what is significant and will be of great benefit is the adjustment of ramps, i.e. the adjustment of public areas by building ramps on the sidewalks along Herceg Novi, Savina and the Herceg Novi Riviera. Certainly, we will not forget the beaches either, and what we will especially emphasize in In the coming period, the beaches for people with disabilities will be adapted both on the Herceg Novi Riviera and in Herceg Novi and Igalo," states the announcement of a member of the Coalition for the Future of Herceg Novi and Boka.
