Bečić: The Assembly remains open to affirming the culture of dialogue and mutual tolerance

The Parliament of Montenegro remains open to affirming the culture of dialogue and mutual tolerance, which would significantly contribute to the reduction of political polarization, said the President of the Parliament of Montenegro Aleksa Bečić at a meeting with the director of the International Republican Institute (IRI), Borislav Spasojević.

"Speaking about the readiness to establish cooperation between the Parliament of Montenegro and the IRI, Bečić welcomed the activities of the Institute, which with its engagement aims to improve democratic standards and encourage citizens to get involved in the political process," the statement of the Parliament of Montenegro states.

The Assembly said that Spasojević introduced Bečić to the preliminary results of the qualitative research conducted at the level of six Montenegrin municipalities and emphasized with particular pleasure the opening of their Office in Montenegro.

"With the statement that the Parliament is the most representative place where the voice of every citizen can be heard, Spasojević stated that the support of the Assembly is extremely important for the valorization of this important social project," the announcement states.

"Taking into account the fact that one of the programs of the IRI is the affirmation of women's participation in politics, Spasojević pointed to the establishment of the Women's Club in the Montenegrin Parliament, as well as to the amendment in the Rules of Procedure that implies that one vice-president of the Assembly must be a person of the less represented sex," they said. from the Assembly.

The Assembly states that the interlocutors agreed that political research sends a message to the general public about political fluctuations and exchanged opinions on numerous current political topics, with mutual readiness for further improvement and development of new cooperation mechanisms.
