The Democratic Party of Socialists strongly condemns this morning's event from Bajova Street in Cetinje and responsibly claims that the attack on representatives of the competing list has nothing to do with DPS. they said from that party.
They called on all competent state institutions to shed light on the event as soon as possible, in order to prevent manipulations for political purposes.
"We note that the practice of constantly provoking citizens, which the Democrats have been carrying out continuously since the parliamentary elections, and which culminated during the past local elections in Herceg Novi and this campaign in Mojkovac, is not something that people in Montenegro are used to in previous election campaigns, and even nor in those that were marked by high political tensions like the pre-referendum one. The Democrats are trying to attribute this incident to the DPS in order to cover up another incident in which they and the URA participated," the DPS said.
They claim that, after yesterday's confrontation on the RTCG Public Service, representatives of Democrats Danilo Mrvaljević and GP URA Filip Adžić first verbally and then physically attacked Aleksandar Bogdanović, the holder of the list "Cetinje wins! DPS - Milo Đukanović" and the current mayor of Prijestonica.
"Adžić started the verbal attack, right after the end of the confrontation in the RTCG studio, with threats to slap Bogdanović, and Mrvaljević joined him. Namely, both of them were probably irritated by the fact that they were defeated in the debate by arguments and results. It culminated in Adžić physically attacking on Bogdanović in front of the RTCG building, with the "support" of other members of the GP URA, who threatened to "open the skulls". Adžić was prevented by the other participants in the debate from physically attacking Bogdanović," DPS said.
This party claims that they wanted to inform the public about the "incident" after the election.
"But, as the Democrats used an incident that has nothing to do with the DPS to cover up their shame and the shame of their copies from the URA, we are obliged to inform the citizens about the real reasons for today's flagrant violation of pre-election silence by the Democrats," said the DPS. -a.
