The establishment of the Fund for Innovation is not a success of the Government, but a legal obligation provided for in Article 37 of the Law on Innovation Activities, adopted on July 30, 2020, said the vice-president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Sanja Damjanović.
The Ministry of Economic Development announced earlier today that the Government of Montenegro at today's session, in accordance with the Government Work Program for the II quarter, adopted the Decision on the establishment of the Innovation Fund of Montenegro, which will ensure the implementation of the innovation policy through the provision and implementation of funds to encourage innovative activities.
Damjanović states that in July of the previous year, she begged the deputies in the Parliament of Montenegro to support Montenegrin youth and knowledge, which the deputies of the then opposition and now the authorities did not want to vote for.
"The decision to establish the Innovation Fund was completely ready for adoption from the first day of the mandate of the new Government, and it took six months for the "experts" to press the button. And the great Law on Incentive Measures for the Development of Research and Innovation, also adopted on July 30.07.2020, XNUMX it is still not implemented due to the lack of by-laws. Can you press that button as well? Because our citizens do not have time to wait for an incompetent government to implement some of the most advanced laws in Europe," said Damjanović.
She told the government that it was not their merit, nor that of their political like-minded members from the parliamentary majority.
"It is the result of the joint work of the previous government with the entire scientific and research community and the economy. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the adoption of these fantastic laws that will make Montenegro one of the most attractive destinations for investing in innovation and the latest technologies," concluded Damjanović.
