DF: Amendments to the Labor Law were not made because of Katnić, but to harmonize the norms with the Law on PIO

The amendments to the Labor Law and the provision on the reduction of the mandatory retirement age were not directed against any person in Montenegro, but solely to harmonize this norm with the norm from the Pension and Disability Insurance Act, they announced. from the Democratic Front.

According to them, the former regime voted to reduce the age limit from 67 to 66 years to qualify for the old-age pension.

"However, by replacing theses these days and with hindsight, individuals from the former regime and their commissioned legal analysts are actually trying to serve the public the story that there will be an economic collapse due to the mentioned change. They claim that it is not true that the Amendments to the Labor Law were passed because of Milivoj Katnić, because his position ends in accordance with the State Prosecutor's Office Act, where the prosecutor's position ends when he becomes eligible for an old-age pension.

"In accordance with Articles 17 and 18 of the Law on PIO, Katnić has acquired the condition for an old-age pension, that is, according to the law adopted by the former regime, when Article 17 of the previous Law on PIO lowered the age limit from 67 to 66 years of age and prescribed reduction of that limit according to Article 18 depending on the time spent in workplaces with increased seniority. What symbolism."

They state that all present members, from the government and the opposition, voted for these changes at the Committee for Health, Labor and Social Welfare, among them MP Draginja Vuksanović Stanković and SD MP Boris Mugoša.

"And for the Law in principle at the plenum, 46 MPs voted in favor, and Milo Đukanović brought the Decree on the Promulgation of the Law. Now MP Šehović and the rest of the opposition party are announcing that they will seek the help of the international community and an evaluation of the constitutionality of the provisions of the Law they voted for. for the same provisions that they themselves voted into the PIO Act when they were in power," added the DF.
