The president of the Croatian Reform Party, former leader of the Croatian Civic Initiative and minister without portfolio, Marija Vučinović, said that the allegations of her former colleague from HGI Mata Marović that she allegedly embezzled party money are slander.
The Prosecution rejected Marović's application for abuse of official position, in which he alleged that Vučinović embezzled around 2007 euros of HGI party funds from 2011 to 400.000.
"The court said what it thought about Marović's insinuations, my property record is available for inspection by anyone," Vučinović told "Vijesta".
State Prosecutor in ODT Kotor Ljiljana Milić dismissed the criminal complaint against Vučinović, and the applicant said that he was not satisfied with such a decision and announced that he would appeal again to the VDT in Podgorica.
He submitted to the media the decision of the ODT from Kotor, from which it can be seen that the former president of HGI and her colleagues, who were interrogated before the Prosecutor's Office, admitted that they used fictitious travel orders to withdraw cash from the party's coffers and then, to the greatest extent, distributed that money for fees to party members. activists, and for "help" members and sympathizers of that party.
The ODT stated that from the conducted evidence, the statements heard and the findings of the financial expert, however, it follows that Vučinović and Biskupović did not thereby obtain a financial benefit for themselves, nor is there any evidence that the former president of HGI appropriated and paid into the bank account in her name, and later spent 14.500 euros of money that Marović, as he claims, handed over to her in front of witnesses at one of the sessions of the HGI Presidency.
Marović previously collected that money as a donation in Croatia to support the then-current activity of HGI, which he led, to collect documentation and protect the first ownership rights of the citizens of Tivat over the land in the complex of the former Montepranzo agricultural property.
Vučinović said yesterday that she "wants the truth to reach the wider public in order to put an end to persistent slander against me.
"It is very indicative that Mato Marović came to his senses after leaving the party, although previously he himself was a high-ranking official of HGI for years and participated in all decisions made by the party's bodies, including those related to financial business. "He didn't mind receiving a monthly fee in cash and confirmed it with his signature, which was proven in court with 22 blocks of receipts that were made available for inspection for a period of over eight years," she pointed out.
Vučinović repeated "that all decisions were made by agreement and transparently, in accordance with the Statute.
"He also forgot that at the end of the year, he was the signatory of the final accounts, which was attached as evidence in court. I persistently wonder if his personal fear is behind such baseless attacks, according to the old saying, attack is the best defense. I especially emphasize that I am one of the founders of HGI, that I gave my fee for the party for four years, that as a long-term president of the party I took care of financial priorities even before we started receiving significant funds from the state budget as a parliamentary party. This is supported by the fact that at the time when my colleagues from the party replaced me, there was 163.822,22 euros in the HGI account, of which 138.892,22 euros were regular funds and 25.000 euros were fixed funds," Vučinović pointed out.
Because of the way she led HGI, her colleagues dismissed Vučinović.
"All accusations by Mata Marović against me are just slander, which the court has confirmed several times. My property record is available for inspection by anyone, as well as my public work as president of HGI, vice-president of Tivat Municipality, long-time councilor in the local parliament and minister in the government for two terms," concludes Vučinović.
