The new ambassador of Montenegro to Hungary should be Danijela Đurović, a member of the Socialist People's Party (SNP), confirmed to Dan from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the appointment should be made official when all the necessary procedures for the appointment of ambassadors have been completed.
The appointment of new ambassadors, however, takes place in very complex political circumstances.
The conflict between the Government and President Milo Đukanović began after consultations where 18 candidates of the Government for ambassadors of Montenegro were discussed, 11 of which were unacceptable to Đukanović.
At the same time, Đukanović called on the Government to suspend or withdraw requests for agreements, and according to some information, he wrote to the officials of a number of countries claiming that the Montenegrin candidates do not have his support.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, however, asked how the president's cabinet could inform the competent authorities of the countries about appointments which, as they claim, were not even considered by the Government and are not in the formal legal procedure.
The government proposed 18 candidates for ambassadors of Montenegro, of which Đukanović gave his approval for seven of them.
