The Acting President of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina Semir Efendić today received Dritan Abazović, the President of the Civic Movement URA and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro, who is on a multi-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the party's headquarters, Abazović's office announced.
"Dritan and I have known each other since our student days. We stayed in touch even after finishing our studies. Dritan's desire to change the ruling structure within his country that has ruled for 30 years seemed unrealistic for a party led by someone from a minority nation, but the entire region had the opportunity to see that it still succeeded. I want to take this opportunity to thank him for the Resolution adopted by the Parliament of Montenegro regarding the genocide in Srebrenica," said Efendić. The statement added that Abazović had already announced his arrival in Srebrenica on July 11 to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.
It was announced from Abazović's cabinet that Abazović pointed out at today's meeting that he looks forward to any form of cooperation between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"I think that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro share many similar things, but also the challenges facing these two countries are almost identical. In order to bring about a greater transformation, we must dedicate ourselves to a different vision, we must forget the policies that did not bring us nothing good and to understand that the future belongs to those people who are ready for changes, and who will in every way promote something that is progressive, modern and compatible with the modern world," said Abazović. He added that "one big and positive novelty on the political scene of BiH is the arrival of Semir Efendić in the Party for BiH".
"Colleague Semir was and is one of the most successful mayors in Bosnia and Herzegovina. One of the political requirements of URE is to devote himself to the overall economic progress of municipalities and the state, and we in Montenegro have often said that he and his work are a positive example of quality management which we can apply in our country as well," said Abazović.
Efendić also emphasized that Montenegro is the only neighbor that has no territorial and political pretensions towards BiH, which is why the chance for cooperation between these two countries is even greater.
