Montenegro is a safe destination and guarantees the safety of tourists, Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said during a meeting with Kazakhstan's Minister of Internal Affairs Marat Kožajev.
Abazović, as announced by the Government, is on an official visit to Kazakhstan.
He introduced Kazajev to the priorities in the work of the Government, the reforms that occurred with the approval of the new Law on Internal Affairs, the work of competent authorities to suppress violent extremism, international smuggling of narcotics and cigarettes, highlighting the results achieved in this regard in the previous period.
"Referring to the significant increase in the interest of Kazakh tourists in Montenegro and the large number of their citizens who stay in Montenegro on a daily basis, Abazović said that Montenegro is a safe destination and that the state guarantees their safety," the statement said.
Kožajev congratulated the Statehood Day, pointing out that the two countries are simultaneously marking 15 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
He introduced Abazović to the system of internal affairs and the security system in Kazakhstan, the reform and optimization of the police, the improvement of technology in work through the digitization of the system.
He stated that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan actively cooperates with many global organizations and that they are open to cooperation with Montenegro.
Kožajev thanked Abazović for his visit, wishing success, progress and peace to Montenegro.
Abazović and Kažajev discussed cooperation between the police and the Prosecutor's Office in Kazakhstan, as well as the importance of cooperation with international organizations in combating organized crime.
