President Milo Đukanović gave his consent to Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić's proposal for a candidate for ambassador in the Mission of Montenegro to the European Union, based in Brussels.
Petar Marković, a lecturer at the Free University in Brussels, was previously proposed as the new ambassador to the EU.
The Information Service of the President of Montenegro announced that at today's meeting, Đukanović and Krivokapić discussed the importance of Montenegro's European path and the necessity of revitalizing the negotiation process.
The two men, as stated, agreed on the need to strengthen the efforts of all state bodies and subjects of society, to accelerate reforms and reach standards, in order to create the conditions for faster integration of Montenegro into the EU.
Đukanović previously, out of 18 ambassadors proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gave a negative opinion for 11 of them, while seven candidates then received the consent of the head of state to be appointed.
