Deputies of Democratic Montenegro are ready to attend the parliamentary session during August in order to elect members of the Prosecutor's Council, announced Democratic deputy and party vice-president Vladimir Martinović.
"The process of hearing candidates for members of the Prosecutor's Council is ongoing. After that, it is necessary to reach an agreement on the selection of professional and independent candidates and determine the proposal of five candidates at the Committee for the Political System. Only then, the mentioned act can enter the procedure at the plenum, and the session can be convened exclusively in the manner prescribed by the Rules of Procedure, because we work in accordance with positive regulations and in a legally valid manner," wrote Martinović on Twitter.
He also stated that it is important that in the coming period the parent committees complete their part of the work and create formal and legal conditions for the Assembly to elect a new president of the SEC, adopt the Law enabling unification of local elections, as well as other urgent issues.
"As for the deputies of Democratic Montenegro, after all the necessary agreements and the creation of formal and legal preconditions, we are even ready to hold a session in August, the day chosen by colleagues, of course - in accordance with the Rules of Procedure, the Constitution and positive regulations because we also want legally and politically absolutely indisputable processes so that, as announced by the head of the executive power and the public, a decisive fight against organized crime and corruption would start from September," concluded Martinović.
Earlier today, one of the leaders of the Democratic Front, Milan Knežević, said that this political alliance is ready to temporarily return to the Assembly and vote for members of the Prosecutor's Council until July 31.
