Vladimir Božović, whom the Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared an undesirable person in Montenegro at the end of November last year, continues to present himself in public as the alleged ambassador of Serbia to our country.

Civic initiative "21. May" invited the competent state prosecutor's office to check whether Božović's actions contained elements of the criminal offense of "False representation", according to Article 383 of the Criminal Code, or any other criminal offense that is prosecuted ex officio.

On the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, section Embassy in Podgorica, three days ago, on August 4, the author's text of Božović was published, which he signed as "ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Montenegro". His author's text, with that title, was also reported by some media in Montenegro.

"The published texts, as well as the hundreds of comments on the portals and on their official Facebook pages, confirm the false representation of Vladimir Božović's natural person, which misled a significant number of citizens. Only a real official is allowed to act as an ambassador, and Božović is in the manner in question obtained a benefit for himself (1) by ascribing to himself a non-existent social importance and performed (2) an action that he was not allowed to perform because it was reserved to be performed only by a certain official", according to GI "May 21".

They remind that the decision of the Government, which declared Božović, the previous ambassador, "persona non grata" on November 28, 2020, has not been changed, nor has it been withdrawn.

"The 'May 21' civic initiative submitted appropriate evidence to the prosecution and proposed hearing the reported natural person Vladimir Božović, as well as the current Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Government of Montenegro, Đorđe Radulović, as well as officials of the previous 41st Government of Montenegro, Prime Minister Duško Marković and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Srđan Darmanović," the announcement concludes.
